TriVis Women's Lotion
Hydroalcoholic lotion for inflamed hair and scalp.
Ingredients: Alcohol, Aqua, Dimethyl sulfone, Isopropyl alcohol, Sorbitol, Glycerin, Xylose, Melatonin, Caffeine, Sphinganine, Cucurbita maxima seed extract, Glycyrrhetinic acid, Benzyl alcohol, Potassium sorbate.
Information: Xylose is a sugar that is obtained by degrading hemicellulose. By binding to hair proteins, it is an active ingredient known for its heat-protective properties. It can be used as a source of energy and nutrition by hair bulb cells, aiding them in hair production. Melatonin plays a role in controlling the hair cycle by reducing apoptosis and increasing estrogen receptor expression. Hair bulbs, therefore in the presence of melatonin bind estrogen more readily which stimulates hair growth. Hair loss can also be caused by melatonin deficiencies. Sphinganine is an amino alcohol found in sphingolipids, important components of cell membranes. It is obtained by fermentation of a single strain of yeast to maximize the uniformity of its production. Sphinganine acts by balancing the hair life cycle by increasing the Anagen phase and strengthening the hair follicle, thereby improving scalp health. Soy is a legume that has been known for thousands of years for its beneficial effects on health and hair. Soy contains appreciable amounts of vitamins, carbohydrates, lipids, and minerals, but the most chemically interesting substances in the extract are the isoflavones. They act as phytoestrogens, with weak estrogenic activity, increasing the amount of circulating SHBG. One of them, daidzein, also, after being converted to its active form, exerts an anti-androgenic action, reducing hair loss due to DHT. 18-beta glycyrrhetinic acid is a pentacyclic triterpene acid extracted from the licorice plant (Glycyrrhiza glabra). It exhibits a potent anti-inflammatory effect due to its chemical affinity for endogenous cortisone. In fact, the structure of 18β-glycyrrhetinic acid makes it active toward glucocorticoid receptors, which are involved in inflammation, reducing its intensity. Caffeine reduces the effects of DHT, or the specific hormone derived from testosterone, which when found in abundance reduces the activity of hair follicles leading to hair loss and giving rise to androgenetic alopecia. Caffeine has vasodilator properties and thus contributes more blood and nutrients to the hair bulbs, nourishing them and aiding in hair production. Sorbitol is a polyalcohol, of similar behavior to glucose from which it is obtained by chemical reduction, used in cosmetics as a humectant to preserve against dehydration and as a moisturizing agent to prevent skin and scalp dryness.
